From now on DPOs (disabled peoples organisations) will work alongside government officials on the governance level of the Disability Action Plan only.
Up until now DPOs have also worked on working groups to implement it.
At working group meetings in March and May this year it was agreed working at a governance level was the way DPOs could contribute most effectively.
Governance mechanisms have oversight of the overall progress of the
Disability Action Plan work and are a forum for emerging issues and
decision-making.
