DPA recruiting in policy, comms and funding

The Disabled Person Assembly works on behalf of its membership with Government, local authorities and communities to make sure the views, aspirations and requirements of disabled people are being included.

We need up to 3 people to:

  • assist the National Policy and Relationships Manager to lead the development, engagement and monitoring of policy on behalf of DPA at local, national and international levels;
  • lead the development and implementation of the DPA Communications Strategy; and
  • lead the development and implementation of the DPA Funding Strategy.

 

We are looking for people with the following experience:

  • Knowledge of the issues facing disabled people and the methods by which sustainable policy can be developed and implemented to address them particularly within the Government Public Policy environment;
  • Knowledge of the issues facing disabled people and the methods by which these issues can be bought before multiple audiences;
  • Experience in working within the disability sector to develop commonly agreed outcomes;
  • Well-developed analytical and relationship management skills;
  • Success and demonstrable knowledge of communicating issues to multiple audiences.

  • Success and demonstrable knowledge of diverse funding streams in the not-for-profit sector; and
  • Understanding of, or willingness to quickly master, the nuances of the disability sector.
