DPA cautious on spending increases for disability support

18 May 2007

The major umbrella organisation representing disabled people is pleased that more funding is going into Disability Support Services.

"The extra $150 million is certainly welcomed and needed," says Mike Gourley, President of the Disabled Persons Assembly - DPA.

"But we don't know how this will be used to improve support services. Investing in service quality is better than investing in bricks and mortar."

"We've seen the price tag. Now we need to see the quality of the goods on the rack," Mike Gourley said.
