Let Decision Makers Hear Your Voice

Our voices at the decision making table

Discussion among members about their experiences and priorities for change has resulted in many successful campaigns as their views become actionable DPA policy

Debate amongst members about things like, employment, education, our right to equal citizenship and access to information, has over the years touched on most areas of New Zealand life.

As a DPA member you are free to express your views about all sorts of disability issues.

Your opinions are then reflected in national and local DPA policy.

We believe that disabled people should be equal partners with decision makers when decisions are made that affect us.

As well as working on projects we also monitor and educate

We keep an eye on legislation, regulations and codes of practice so disabled people can gain equality of access, effective participation, and economic independence.

We also check out disability services to make sure they allow us to have full, meaningful and constructive lives of our own choosing. We make sure service providers, government, the general public and the media understand the views and aspirations of disabled people.
