DPA and TAMA delegation for UNCRPD COSP19 Conference

DPA are proud to announce that we will be sending a virtual delegation to the UNCRPD COSP19 Conference in partnership with Te Ao Mārama Aotearoa (TAMA).

Given the recent affronts to disability rights in Aotearoa, it is more critical than ever that we deepen our engagement with international accountability mechanisms and actively monitor the New Zealand government’s positions at the UNCRPD.

Given the affronts to Te Tiriti and the rights of tākata whaikaha/hauā Māori, it is also more critical than ever that we do so in a way aligned to our obligations for Tiriti partnership.

We are grateful to be collaborating with and learning from TAMA and look forward to our collective advocacy together.

The delegation will be Kera Sherwood-O’Regan, Tristram Ingham, Bernadette Huatau Jones, Juliana Carvalho, Huhana Hickey, Chris Ford, Michael Nolan, Jason Boberg, Taki Peeke, and Patti Poa.
