Dunedin City Council Draft Logan Park Reserve Management Plan

To: Dunedin City Council
Date: November 2025

Purpose

DPA supported the creation of a Logan Park which is more accessible and inclusive to everyone, including disabled people.

The DCC picked up on all the key issues from our submission during the first round of consultation on Logan Park, which included:

  • A lack of accessible footpaths around the park.
  • A lack of accessible toilets and changing areas.
  • No accessible seating for spectators.
  • Minimal mobility parking spaces.
  • Insufficient separation between cyclists and pedestrians accessing the area.

Numerous accessibility improvements have been promised by the DCC under the terms of the draft management plan.

Summary of DPA submission

DPA welcomed the many proposed actions to make Logan Park more inclusive and accessible including undertaking an accessibility audit of proposed facilities and dealing with issues including the need to separate pedestrians and cyclists in some areas.
